Attention!
Most of your daily common dollar-bottle waters are merely cleaned up tap water! When you see "purified"-instead of "artesian", "spring", "source", etc-on their label, you are essentially consuming local, treated water.
I've heard several complaints about Dasani, and decided to research further. Large companies (Dasani by Coca-Cola) have tap water merely de-chlorinated, filtered again, UV treated, or mineralized. There is nothing notable about "purified" drinking water. An article from Reuters describes how these purification processes are essentially the same as what treatment plants use to satisfy health requirements.
For those who are considering switching brands, Aquafina (by Pepsico) and Pure Life (by Nestle) are merely a few of many over advertised "purified" refined tap water offerings out there.
There is nothing "crisp" or "fresh" about these brands we consume. And although most of us still continue to drink it, it's nice to know. For all our "lifestyle" choices, and for all those people who can't bear to drink something equivilant to what comes out of their sink, go buy Evian, Perrier and such; you don't have to worry about those. They're mineral waters from a non tap source.
